		<description>I would suggest that monetary incentives also boost efficiency, provided that they are based on clearly defined metrics that have been selected with efficiency in mind.
Especially in bigger offices where the owner is also the key dentist, the owner knows little of the details of what other employees are doing. The dentist is simply busy in the operatory most of the time.
Incentives provide the unseen staff with a self-monitoring mindset toward achieving the targets for the metrics.</description>

		<description>Nice, focused suggestion. May I add a 13th item? Checklists after meeting! It just so often seems that 
after a seemingly productive meeting, the principal leaves relieved, the staff motivated, and yet in a 
few weeks there is no memory of the meeting! And if there is, there less often than tha is any 
accountability made official - save for the memory itself!

Checklists have been shown to be very powerful in aviation safety, and now are increasingly adopted in medicine.
Whereas the motivations there are safety, they clearly embedd accountability - &quot;You should have known and acted&quot;
can be established if a checklist has been given to the task executor.
